THE CHALLENGE
First Nations artist Karver Everson handcrafted this western red cedar rattle and wanted to digitize the carving for 3D printing.
THE SOLUTION
Replik8 Studios used 3D imaging technology to capture the original shape and texture of the rattle and 3D print a prototype.
Everson can now fabricate the rattle in different materials with 3D printing. He can also use the digitized version in virtual reality — allowing interested viewers to interact with the digital sculpture, inspecting it from any angle in a simulated environment
